FORT WAYNE, Ind (21Alive) -- The 122nd Fighter Wing held a chemical attack drill Sunday as part of combat readiness scenarios.

The drill was part of the fighter wing's Unit Effectiveness Inspection. The simulations are designed to create conditions that could be encountered on deployment.

Officials from the 122nd Fighter Wing said the inspection was important so their units could validate their training to react to certain challenges that may be met in combat.

Those who participated in the exercise felt it allowed them to learn from mistakes they made now, so they won't make them when deployed.
