FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- It's not just the players who are preparing for the first ever PGA Tour event in the Summit City, hundreds of volunteers attended training sessions Friday afternoon for the Web.com Hotel Fitness Championship.

The group received uniforms and credentials and learned what their responsibilities will be come tournament time. Some of their jobs include taking tickets at the gate, keeping score for the players and keeping the large crowds in line.

"Really one of the most important parts, we really couldn't run a tournament without these 545 volunteers that have signed up, so they're extremely important and they'll be helping us with everything," said Sally White, Hotel Fitness Championship manager.

Each group had a 30-minute general session before meeting with their specific committees for another hour-training session. The tournament kicks off August 26th.
