FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Two new activities have been announced for the week of this year's Hotel Fitness Championship.

The Western Golf Association announced yesterday that "Hometown Team Day" will take place on August 30. All fans that wear local professional team logos to the tournament will receive a free program at the gate. Also, their will be an autograph session with the mascots of the Fort Wayne Tincaps, Komets, and Mad Ants between 12:30 and 2:00 p.m. the same day.

Another new element this year will be the Lutheran Health Fan Village, which will have multiple vendor booths and official tournament merchandise will be available.

“We are excited to feature some fantastic organizations in our Lutheran Health Fan Village and add Hometown Team Day to our lineup of tournament week activities,” said Duke Butler IV, tournament director, on behalf of the WGA. “The theme day will bring the excitement of the diamond, rink and court to Sycamore Hills Golf Club and highlight Fort Wayne as a fantastic sports town. The Hotel Fitness Championship is a fun event for the entire family, and we encourage parents to bring their kids out to the tournament.”

The Hotel Fitness Championship is one of four Web.com Tour Finals events that will determine the 50 players who earn cards for the 2014-15 PGA TOUR season under the TOUR's enhanced qualifying system.
