ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Vera Bradley is doing its part to help reduce Allen County's 8.5-percent unemployment rate.

The quilted purse maker announced it will create up to 124 new jobs by 2015, after investing approximately $22.5-million to expand its current distribution center.

And in the time being they also plan to hire several temporary workers as well.

Vera Bradley Spokesperson Melissa Schenkle says, “Vera Bradley is also embarking on hiring about 100 temporary workers, to help us for the holiday season, and we will be hiring those between October, and December, and anyone can go to man power, to get more information, and we'll be hiring those through the manpower staffing agency.”

Vera Bradley currently employs 840 full time workers.
