WAWAKA, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Three children were removed from a Wawaka home Thursday after police arrested several people for possession of marijuana, outstanding warrants and neglect of a dependent. The children were placed with a relative by the Noble County Child Protective Services.
When Deputies arrived at the home on attempt to locate Melissa Altimus on an outstanding arrest warrant, they discovered three other people in the home smoking marijuana. A two year old was in the room with them.
Melissa K. Altimus 31 of Cromwell was arrested on the warrant for possession of marijuana, possession of precursors, maintaining a common nuisance, and a new charge of visiting a common nuisance.
Steven J. Lester 22 of Wawaka was charged with possession of marijuana 2nd offense and maintaining a common nuisance.
Kathy M. Lester 23 of Wawaka was charged with possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, and neglect of a dependant.
Christopher D. Hutcherson 26 of Churubusco was charged with possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance.
Steve A. Keene 53 of Wawaka was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
