FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Carroll High School students presented a $6,000 check to a Carroll staff member recently diagnosed with leukemia during a Holiday Hoops Game Thursday afternoon.

In August of 2012, Janelle Carpenter, a technology specialist with Northwest Allen County Schools, was diagnosed with leukemia. Carpenter has been a member of the district family since 2000.

Students also collected more than 2,800 canned food items to be used in the upcoming CANstruction competition. Those food items will also be donated to the local food bank.
