MARION, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A man is now behind bars in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old Montpelier, Ind. woman. Police say the woman was shot and killed early Friday morning in Marion.

The Grant County coroner's office identified the victim Friday as Megan Elaine Chipman, 23, of Montpelier.

Early Saturday morning police arrested Zachary Allen Thien, 27, of Marion, in a Walmart parking lot in Ohio. He was wanted for the murder of Chipman.

Marion Police found Chipman lying in the westbound lanes of SR 18 near Hotel Marion with gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Chipman was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Police believe Chipman was riding in a vehicle with the suspect prior to being shot in the street.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call the Marion Police Department at (765) 662-9981.
