Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The man who barricaded himself and took four others hostage in an apartment on Serenity Drive Tuesday, made his first court appearance Thursday morning.

It was Tuesday morning when Dernail Brown locked himself in the Serenity Drive apartment for nearly two hours.

Police originally showed up at the scene to serve a warrant for Brown's arrest.

All four hostages, a young child, two teenagers and an adult woman, were unharmed in the incident.
