FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) --Representatives from Lutheran Hospital met with the Fort Wayne Board of Zoning Appeals Thursday night to request a second helipad for Lutheran Hospital.

During Lutheran's expansion, crews were forced to close a landing pad that was too close to a crane and build a temporary one.

Thursday night, members of the Fort Wayne Board of Zoning Appeals authorized re-opening the old helicopter pad by next September.

Lutheran executives say two helipads will improve emergency trauma care.
