SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The man convicted of kidnapping Utah teen Elizabeth Smart was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison.

Brian David Mitchell abducted Smart in 2002 when she was 14-years-old and held her captive for 9-months before she was found alive.

Mitchell was convicted by a federal jury last December of abducting Elizabeth Smart.
