Congressman Stutzman Calls For 'Disaster Aid' in Tornado Tragedy

May 22, 2013 Updated May 22, 2013 at 1:17 PM EST

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Third District Indiana Congressman Marlin Stutzman is calling upon his colleagues to help the tornado victims rebuild.

"With nearly $17 trillion in debt, Congress must put the people of Oklahoma ahead of wasteful federal programs," Stutzman says. "Disaster aid is just a small fraction of the $3.6 trillion Washington spends each year but for those in need it’s a lifeline that Congress can easily prioritize in the coming weeks.”

He also says that his heart breaks for the victims of the tragedy in Oklahoma and Congress is obligated to help the families rebuild.
