FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.nbc33.com) – Something to consider as school starts again in a few weeks is where your kids will go once class lets out for the day.
You’ll want to be sure to find a child care provider that is a good, safe place for your kids to be. Early Childhood Alliance can recommend a number of certified care-givers, but says its best for parents to visit each potential location to ensure it's the right fit for your family.
Shannon Gage, the Program Director with Early Childhood Alliance offers a few tips for parents looking for the perfect child care provider. "Taking the time to visit the program, and if they're older take them with you because you want to make sure they feel as comfortable as you do going there. And just asking questions and observing. Are the children happy? Are the care givers engaged with the children, is there rich conversation? Is there enough to do?"
Some other tips to consider are the provider's hours of operation and what means of transportation are available to get your kids to and from school.
