NATIONAL (NBC33) -- The hills are alive and the music and the film are iconic.
Singing sensation Carrie Underwood stars in Thursday night’s live stage production of the classic, The Sound Of Music. She has the role Julie Andrews made famous, Maria, Governess to the singing Von Trapp family.
Stephen Moyer co-stars with Underwood in the role of Captain Von Trapp. It’s a departure from his vampire role on True Blood but draws on his musical background.
The Sound Of Music was originally a hit on Broadway before the 1965 film. So tonight’s live production marks a return to the story’s roots. That brings an energy the actors say is unique for TV.
Tune in tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC33. And head over to the NBC33 Facebook page to enter a contest to win the soundtrack featuring the cast from the live broadcast.
