OKLAHOMA (www.nbc33.com) – The numbers from last week have been stunning, 24 lives lost, nearly 4000 homes and businesses damaged and more than 1200 buildings completely destroyed by tornadoes in five Oklahoma counties, including the town of Moore.
Oklahoma native and country music star, Blake Shelton, and his wife, Miranda Lambert sang a tribute to the storms' victims and survivors last week on NBC's "The Voice".
Wednesday night, they take things a step further, headlining a relief benefit concert.
Tickets for the concert at Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Arena sold out in five minutes last Saturday. The fundraiser will also feature performances from country legends Reba McEntire and Vince Gill as well as Shelton's fellow coach on "The Voice", Usher.
Also among the acts taking part in the concert are country artists Darius Rucker and the trio Rascal Flatts. The event will raise money for "The United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund".
