FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - The end of the school year also means a celebration of the scholastic achievements for children.

Students at Weisser Park Elementary School were recognized Wednesday for completion of the Project READS program.

Project READS is a program put on by Allen County Education Partnership to provide families of students in kindergarten through third grade with books to improve literacy.

The kids had a pizza party to recognize their progress and to honor the volunteers for their dedication.

Project READS has set up 16 tutoring sites across Allen County to help students read better and read more.
