FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) -- Over 900 leaders showed up to the Grand Wayne Center Thursday for the annual Global Leadership Summit, hosted by Blackhawk Ministries.

For the first time in the program's 10 years, the event was held downtown because the number of anticipated attendees doubled from last year. This local event is one of over 300 satellite locations across the country watching the host feed from Chicago.

Speakers talked of leadership and skill development within an organization and their message was clear.

"Whenever you help a leader get better - whatever that leader's doing, whatever organization they are a part of - when a leader's heart gets stirred, when a leader's skills get sharpened, when a leader's mind gets stretched we believe that whatever they are leading gets better," Blackhawk Ministries Pastor Kelly Byrd said.

The event runs through Friday at the Grand Wayne Center from 9:30-5:30 p.m.
