UNITED STATES (www.nbc33.com) -- Tired of traffic tickets? A new company is promising traffic ticket protection from parking citations to moving violations including DUIs.

Tickets Bite, co-founded by Christopher Thomas, claims to drive away your fears of a fine.

It works like insurance. Policy holders pay a monthly fee for the coverage, starting under $10, then file a claim if they get a ticket and Tickets Bite promises to pay the ticket within days.

While providing peace-of-mind, it also could encourage dangerous driving behavior.

Drivers should consider other penalties, especially for moving violations which can impact auto insurance premiums.

The California Department of Insurance says that there are laws that prohibit indemnification against criminal penalties, which this product appears to offer consumers.

Thomas insists the company wants to encourage safe driving and offers money-back if the driver goes a year without a ticket.
