FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) -- The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has become a viral campaign to raise money and awareness to fight ALS and NBC33 decided to join in.
Amytrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease and the Ice Bucket Challenge has driven 70,000 new donors to the ALS Association since July 29th. The Ice Bucket Challenge sees a someone challenge another individual to get a bucket full of ice water dumped on them within 24 hours, or donate to the ALS Association.
However, people have been donating whether accepting the challenge or not and the awareness for ALS has increased exponentially. NBC33's Krista Miller and Kent Hormann were challenged by Producer Ryan Lower and Director Jamie Till.
Take a look at the video to see the results of that challenge.
