SAN DIEGO, Calif. (www.nbc33.com) – A group of collectors show off their unique collectables at the San Diego County Fair.
It’s been called the “heart” of the county fair. Away from all of the loud excitement from the outside lies something just as fun but a little quieter.
The home and hobby section of the county fair has been coordinated by Eva Peterson for over 20 years. This year has included over 100 different collections.
Objects like poker chips, miniature toilets and pinewood derby cars invade the area. Billy Swank has collected clippings of his Santa Clause beard for the past 11 years.
Though these collections seem bizarre, people say that they “feel homey” and that this part of the fair has “a little more personality”. The best part: you haven’t seen it all.
