Local National Guard Unit Staying Home (NBC33 VIDEO)

INDIANA (www.nbc33.com) - Because of budget cuts, three Indiana National Guard Units, including the 293rd Infantry based here in Fort Wayne, are being taken off the deploy list.

Those guard members were supposed to be sent to Afghanistan. Instead they will sit on the sideline until further notice. An Indiana National Guard spokesperson said the sequester had hampered the army’s ability to perform previously planned missions with reserve component forces.
