FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.nbc33.com) -- In light of the rash of shootings across the Summit City, the local NAACP rallied in front of police headquarters downtown to plead for a "cease fire" in the community.
The organization's leaders said Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm-X worked too hard to ensure freedoms and civil rights for African-Americans, for today's young people to kill each other.
They said young African-American men are too wrapped up in their own egos, and need to not get so ready to shoot when they feel they've been "disrespected."
