FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) - The first two days are in the books, but parents and students of Fort Wayne Community Schools are noticing an updated lunch menu.
Candice Hagar, the Nutrition Director at Fort Wayne Community Schools says the school corporation continues to adapt their menu to offer healthier alternatives to their meal offerings.
Even junk food staples on the menu like pizza have gotten a facelift, now being made with whole-grain crusts. And all meals feature a fruit option.
Despite all the improvements being made, the biggest struggle is getting the kids to eat the food and not just throw it away.
