UNITED STATES (www.nbc33.com) – Your credit card may have more travel benefits than just accumulating points.

Many people tend to overlook the fine print when signing up for a credit card, but some of that fine print may prove to have its benefits.

A credit card can come in handy if any luggage is lost. According to the Executive Editor of SmarterTravel.com, luggage coverage would kick in after filing a claim with the carrier.

Some credit cards can even buy a nice seat at an airport lounge normally reserved for first or business class passengers, save money on a car rental, offer roadside assistance, and even offer concierge service at certain resorts or hotels.

Bottom line: check with your card issuer for hidden benefits.
