FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) – St. Joe Center Veterinary Hospital has won the Vote for Your Vet competition and has been named the 2013 Allen County SPCA Veterinarian of the Year.
The campaign, which began in early July, challenged area residents to vote for their favorite veterinary practice by donating to the Allen County SPCA. Each dollar donated represented one vote. Donations were accepted at Allen County veterinary offices, at the shelter and on the SPCA’s website.
“We want to congratulate Dr. Stapleton, Dr. Hendrickson and their staff for their hard work in raising funds for the Allen County SPCA. Their efforts will result in more happy and healthy pets finding forever homes,” said Jessica Henry, shelter director.
As winners of the friendly competition, St. Joe Center Veterinary Hospital will receive a complimentary table at CatWalk, the shelter’s signature event to be held on Saturday, November 9 at the Grand Wayne Center as well as a plaque to display at the clinic.
St. Joe Center Veterinary Hospital raised $1,162 for the shelter. Second place went to Aboite Animal Hospital for raising $784, and third place went to Indian Creek Veterinary Hospital for raising $640. In total, local veterinarians raised $5,273.
