FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) – It’s getting down to the last few days to prepare for Halloween, and costume shops around Fort Wayne are starting to see some big swings in business. The latest trends in costumes seem to be similar to the latest trends in Hollywood.

As the kids are out trick-or-treating this year, there will be the staple costumes like Frankenstein, monsters, and princesses but this year’s more popular costumes reflect what is being seen in Hollywood.

Zombies are a huge hit along with superhero characters you would see right out of a Marvel comic strip.

If you haven’t picked out your costumes yet, you may want to hurry before the crowds hit.

"You'll be busy this week, and last week we were fairly busy,” says Dick Stoner, owner of Stoner’s Fun Store. “This week we've been real, real busy so far but then the following week right up before Halloween - that's the peak. But this time it'll be busy this weekend, there'll be some Halloween shows then some parties, and then there will be some after."

If you are still struggling to come up with a creative costume idea, Stoner says there is no reason to worry.

"We have 20,000 rental costumes. We do plays for theatres and all that sort of thing and complete wardrobes for shows and so on. Whether you want something through time periods, like if you want to be gangsters or you want to go in the 50's or the 60's or the 70's we've got time periods like that way back to Biblical things."

Stoner’s Fun Store specializes in costumes, gag gifts, and magic tricks.
