FORT WAYNE (incnow.tv) -- A man has died after crashing his pickup truck into a tree on the Southwest side of Fort Wayne Friday morning.

Dispatchers tell us they were called for medical assistance in the 2900 Block of Genesee just after 1:30 AM. Upon arrival, medics learned the man was involved in a crash on the 4200 Block of Kekionga Drive.

They say the man crashed his truck into a tree at that location, then called family members for assistance. They reportedly transported him to the Genesee location. That's when he reportedly stopped breathing.

Medics immediately began administering CPR on the victim. They then took him to a nearby hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Fatal Accident Crash Team.
