FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) - The Summit City's biggest summer attraction has concluded, and early numbers show the 2014 State War Roller Hockey tournament was a major hit.

The event wrapped up on Sunday.

Over 10,000 youth athletes and their families visited Fort Wayne, translating to more than $3 million spent within the local economy.

In years past this tournament has been hosted by larger cities like Chicago, Cincinnati, and St. Louis but local organizers feel this very well could have put Fort Wayne on the national scene when it comes to hosting major sporting events.
