Phyllis Pond Memorialized With Dedication of U.S. 24 (NBC33 VIDEO)

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (NBC33) - Governor Mike Pence spent the day Tuesday in and around Allen County, even taking time to meet with family members of the late Phyllis Pond in New Haven.

Governor Pence, along with INDOT officials revealed a new sign that will designate an 11-mile stretch of U.S. 24 as "Phyllis J. Pond Memorial Highway."

Pond was a driving force behind the "Fort to Port" road project which improved access and safety of U.S. 24 between Fort Wayne and Toledo. Now, she will be forever remembered for it.
