Convoy, OH (NBC33) - A small town in Ohio is taking another step to protect the children of their community.

Firefighters with the Convoy Volunteer Fire Department in Convoy, Ohio are trying to raise $65,000 to be used in purchasing 4,500 smoke detectors.

Their goal is to provide every child in the county grades K-12 with a smoke detector to take home. Right now, however donations are slow with just over $21,000 having been raised.
