FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) - A Fort Wayne-based weather satellite manufacturer has secured two major contracts that could mean big dollars and good paying jobs for the area.
Exelis builds the satellites that are responsible for images used in predicting weather patterns around the world. But now they have signed separate contracts with NASA and the Japanese government to take it a step further.
The company will begin to develop equipment that will be used to study the progression of climate change. These contracts mean that company will soon be hiring 15 to 20 engineers and scientists to help with research.
