FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter)-- In Just the last few weeks our mornings have gone from sun filled to dark as our nights get longer heading into Fall.
That can make getting in an early walk or run challenging and sometimes dangerous if you not dressed in the proper reflective apparel.
Plan your clothing with appropriate reflectiveness for safety.
As you'll learn in this report , this can be in jackets, shirts, pants, shorts, shoes, by attaching lights, and planning your route for well-lit areas.
Also now is a good time to begin planning what you will wear for the race.
Wear the clothes you will likely wear for the race now during a longer run so you will know whether blisters or chafing is likely to be an issue.
The weather that day will likely be cool (50-60s) early, probably 70-80s by mid-day or less.
The hot, humid weather we are having now will not likely be around in a month but you never know.
Plan for all possibilities.
If you are going to get new shoes, do it now and wear them for a few runs before the big day.
Don't wear a brand new pair of shoes fresh out of the box the day of the race.
What if they rub a little?
Better to know now that a few miles into the race on race day.
