FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- An Indianapolis Colts player was jailed this weekend after a birthday celebration apparently got out of hand.

Reports say defensive end Jerry Hughes and two others were arrested following a disturbance at a nightclub in Dallas early Sunday.

Hughes was cited for public intoxication.

At about the same time, NFL star Cedric Benson was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge in Austin.

Officials say the free agent running back had gotten into a fight with a former roommate.

He was released from jail Sunday.

These incidents come as talks to end the NFL lockout should resume today.

Sources say the negotiations are expected to be held in New York with a court-appointed mediator.

The lockout began about four months ago with the players and owners at odds over revenue issues.

Reports have indicated the two sides are close to a deal now that the season is just around the corner.
