WASHINGTON (AP) - A volunteer firefighter from Indiana took part
in President Barack Obama's health care summit in Washington.
Twenty-four-year-old Travis Ulerick of Dublin, Ind., introduced
the president during the opening session of Thursday's meeting,
which drew allies, skeptics and health care figures of all stripes
to the White House to debate ideas for overhauling the nation's
Ulerick works full time for the Wayne County community's
ambulance service and is a senior at Ball State University. He
helped organize a community discussion on health care at Dublin's
fire station in December that was attended by members of the Obama
Ulerick also is being featured in an upcoming White House video
on the Web site healthreform.gov.
