FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - The Apartment Association of Fort Wayne is taking action after a rash of apartment complex robberies to begin the year.

Managers of several complexes have distributed letters advising residents of the series of robberies, and safety tips to help prevent hold-ups.

"Residents need to pay attention to persons that have no direct business in the apartment community and who appear suspicious in any way,” Beth Wyatt, executive director of AAFW, says. "Any calls reporting suspicious persons or activity will not be treated as a nuisance call, but rather investigated to the fullest degree."

Some complexes are also holding meetings, so tenants can meet neighbors and get more information from the Fort Wayne Police Department.
