WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ind (www.incnow.tv) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred near Salem in Washington County.

Officers say a four year old boy was operating a youth model ATV when he lost control, struck a tree and was thrown from the confines of the all terrain vehicle. The boy’s stepfather was supervising and quickly rendered aid.

The boy is being treated for injuries including a broken nose at Harrison County Hospital.

Officers say the boy was not wearing a helmet or any safety equipment. They strongly encourage riders to wear proper safety equipment when operating an ATV.
