FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33)-- A lot of momentum has been circulating riverfront development recently, with the city of Fort Wayne releasing its findings for what residents want to see built on the rivers.

The folks with Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana, or YLNI, are getting involved, too. This week the group released findings of their own survey about how specifically residents want the riverfront to be developed. because most importantly they want to ensure their voices are heard.

"We wanted to be proactive. And our mission being to attract and retain young talent, we want to make sure that that young talent's voice is heard," says Jake Pickett, VP of Communications for YLNI. " So we reached out to our database and also partnered with the Young Millennial - or with the Millennial Association - and wanted to reach out and just make sure voices were heard. Not everybody has a chance to get downtown."

Their study showed an interest in what was dubbed as "experience" type of uses. Meaning restaurants, entertainment, and tourist attractions were more desirable than everyday uses like residential or office spaces.
