FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Former IPFW Chancellor Michael Wartell continues fight against Purdue University for gender discrimination.

Purdue University is refuting former IPFW chancellor Michael Wartell's argument that he was a victim of gender discrimination when he was forced out of his job in 2011.

Purdue lists nine defenses in its response to Wartell's discrimination lawsuit. Among them is that his gender discrimination complaint was handled by a male investigator and decided by three male members of the school's trustees.

The Journal & Courier reports Purdue also argues that its actions were in good faith and Wartell waited too long to sue the University.

Wartell stepped down in 2012, and was succeeded by current Chancellor Vicky Carwein.
