FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – A small group walk in the name of justice in honor of Tavontae Haney.
Walking for justice is what a small group of people did Sunday morning in honor of Tavontae Haney, the 19-year old who was shot and killed by police last weekend.
A friend of Haney's, Malayshia Reid, organized the walk and rally. The group gathered at the Allen County courthouse and walked to McKinney and Spatz, where Haney was killed.
Reid says a lot of people are angry and fed up with the shootings, and something needs to be done.
"We're just tired of everybody killing each other, it doesn't matter who has the gun, who's behind the gun, we're just tired of people dying and none of them being justified or solved,” she said.
Reid says she thinks the younger generation needs to change their attitudes about gun violence in order to stop the killings.
