WABASH, Ind. (NBC33) -- Wabash was named as one of two recipients awarded status as a "Stellar Community" at the Indiana State Fair today.
The announcement was made by Indiana Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann during a ceremony at the Indiana State Fair. The designation means Wabash will have access to millions of dollars in funding for economic development. The other recipient of the designation was Huntingburg, in southern Indiana.
Decatur, Marion, Mount Vernon, and Nashville were finalists in the program, but will not have access to funds.
