NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) – A woman is hospitalized and two others injured after a vehicle rollover in Noble County.

Authorities say it happened just after 5 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 6 near 700 N. just east of the town of Wawaka. Police reported a 911 caller said he could hear a female’s voice yelling for help.

When police arrived they found Sara Smiechowski, 20, of Elkart County lying a in a ditch several feet from the car. Police believe the young woman was ejected from the car that reportedly flipped several times. Paramedics claim she was bleeding from her leg and had possible internal injuries. She was air-lifted to Parkview Hospital.

Eugene Smiechowski, 21, and Cody Trent, 20, both of Elkart County were also in the car. Police say Trent was driving and Eugene was in the passenger seat, with Sara in the backseat. The two young men were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Police say Trent was driving westbound on U.S. 6 and went too fast around a curve causing him to lose control and go off the side of the road.

Police are investigating whether high speeds and alcohol played a factor in the accident.
