VAN WERT, OH (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Van Wert man who is being accused of killing his grandmother was indicted Friday morning.

33-year-old Shawn Jones faced formal charges during his indictment that he killed his 84-year-old grandmother, Edna Larue.

Prosecutors also said Jones has several past felonies convictions, on his criminal record.

In 2002, he was convicted of a sex crime and possession of a deadly weapon.

In 2006, he was convicted of theft.

In 2009, he was convicted of burglary.

Jones was arrested Saturday morning, after police found Larue's in her Van Wert home.

Jones was in court Monday for a preliminary hearing, where he was denied bail.

Meanwhile, Investigators said that Edna Larue's death was ruled a murder and that she was strangled.

Right now, Jones has not entered a plea yet in this case.

However, he will be arraigned Tuesday morning.

During that hearing, he's expected to enter a plea of "guilty" or not guilty.
