ATLANTA, GA (21Alive) -- Some people may have woken up to gifts missing from under their Christmas Tree this morning. That is, if UPS was supposed to deliver them.
The largest package carrier in the United States failed to deliver all packages by Christmas Eve, leaving consumers angry over their missing gifts.
A statement released by UPS said that they couldn't keep up because "the volume of air packages in our system exceeded the capacity of our network."
UPS also stated that only a small percentage of packages didn't make it to their intended destination. However, this has not kept customers from taking to the company's Facebook page to complain about the failed deliveries using #UPSdelays and #UPSfail to express their frustration.
UPS isn't the only company facing criticism. Online retail giant Amazon.com has apologized for failed deliveries on their part and has offered refunds on shipping in some cases.
