INDIANAPOLIS (RTV6) - Two teens were injured and one person is in custody after shots were fired near Circle Centre Mall Saturday, police said.

Indianapolis Metro police officers were called out to Circle Centre at about 9 p.m. on reports of a group of teens fighting.

"We do have on Saturday nights a lot of young children and juveniles that come down to the mall unsupervised at this time and a lot of times things happen after the mall closes," said Sgt. Linda Jackson with IMPD. "They are coming outside to wait for a bus or for their ride to pick them up."

When police arrived, they found a 17-year-old boy who had been shot in the foot.

About 30 minutes later, IMPD officers responded to a second shooting just a few blocks down on Washington and Illinois streets.

Police said the second victim, a 15-year-old boy, is in critical condition at Methodist Hospital.

Investigators are not commenting on whether the shootings are related.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
