UNITED STATES (www.incnow.tv) -- A false message was sent to followers of the Associated Press on Twitter saying "Breaking: Two Explosions in the White House and Barack Obama is injured."
The tweet was sent Tuesday afternoon and was up for approximately four minutes before the AP tweeted "The @AP twitter account has been hacked. The tweet about an attack at the White House is false."
The Dow plummeted more than 140 points immediately following the tweet about the White House explosions. Then when the AP tweeted that their Twitter account had been hacked, the Dow recovered within nearly six minutes.
This comes just days after three CBS properties were hacked. The twitter accounts for "60 Minutes", "48 Hours" and a local news CBS affiliate in Denver were all hacked Saturday.
The Syrian Electronic Army claimed responsibility for the attacks on their website.
