FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – It’s Opening Day for the Fort Wayne TinCaps!

We’ll bring you live coverage all day long of the day’s events with special segments on what’s new this year.

As part of Opening Day plans, visitors planning on attending the TinCaps game who park in the Harrison Square Parking Garage, will have new and easier way in and out of the garage.

“Here’s a TinCaps’ Opening Day heads-up on parking changes at the Harrison Square Parking Garage guaranteed to make game-day arrivals and departures even easier,” said Mayor Tom Henry. “To smooth traffic flow, parking-garage entries are now on Harrison Street only. Exits can be made on to either Harrison or Douglas streets.”

TinCaps’ Game Parking Improvements:

--Before the game, entry to the Harrison Square Parking Garage will only be at the Harrison Street gates. Vehicles will not be able to enter from Douglas Street. This change will alleviate inbound congestion on the first floor of the garage.

--If drivers attempt to enter the garage from Douglas Street, attendants at the Douglas Street gates will direct them down Webster to surface lots south of Brackenridge.

--After the game, cars may exit the garage from either the Harrison Street or Douglas Street gates.

The new system – enter on Harrison Street, exit on either Douglas or Harrison streets – this should smooth traffic before and after the games.

The parking modifications are a collaborative effort of the TinCaps, Downtown Improvement District and the City of Fort Wayne.
