FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Allen County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the man police say is responsible for last weekend's double murder, before he killed himself.
After fingerprint comparison it was determined that the body is that of 43-year-old Bart Lamar Heller.
The Allen County Coroner's office has identified two of the three bodies found at 3229 Lima Road Saturday afternoon.
They are a female, Erin Jehl, 19, of Fort Wayne and a male, Ryann Tipton, 19, also of Fort Wayne.
Both died from gun shot wounds. They are the 21st and 22nd homicides in Fort Wayne in 2011.
An autopsy was also performed on the third body and is believed to be the person responsible for the shootings. He has not been positively identified as of Sunday afternoon. But coroners confirmed his manner of death was suicide.
Investigators are waiting for fingerprint verification to make a positive identification for the third victim.
Here is the more detailed story from earlier Sunday:
Just after 3:00 p.m. Saturday over police dispatch, we heard a report for a well-being check at 3229 Lima Rd. Dispatch told the officer that a woman called from Washington state, because she was anxious for her friend after reading on Facebook that three dead bodies were at that location. She didn't know if it was a joke or not and asked police to check the house.
Upon arriving at the Lima Rd. home, the officer peeked through a front window and noticed a man inside the house. Police say he was completely unresponsive.
A bit later in the afternoon, Fort Wayne police were called to 3229 Lima Rd. for a homicide investigation. Police found three adults with bullet wounds inside the home. Police later got a warrant to continue searching the house but say they do not know how long the three were dead.
Until coroners release cause of death, police say they must investigate the discovery as three homicides. But as of Sunday morning, police say they do not believe this was a random act of violence and are not currently seeking any suspects in connection to the incident.
Until Allen County Coroners confirm the three adults' identities, police cannot verify the connection between the Facebook tip and the bodies. After searching on Facebook, we found the male's Facebook page and post that was originally called in as a tip. Out of respect for the victims' families, we will not publish his name until police have confirmed identities.
According to the timing of the post, it was published right before 3:00 p.m. Saturday. Police received the call from the Washington state woman at 3:04 p.m. The post that spurred the tip and current investigation has, as of Sunday morning, been shared 31 times and has 81 comments.
The original post from Bart Heller says, "someone call 911. three dead bodies at 3229 lima road fort wayne indiana. I've killed ryann, erin, and myself. people were warned not to f***ing play me and ruin me. they didn't listen. sorry about your luck."
We removed the names listed in the post, because, once again, coroners have not identified the three bodies found in the Lima Rd. home and police have not verified the connection between Facebook and the bodies. Police are trying to interview the woman who originally called in the well-being check in order to gather more information.
When official identities or more details are released, we will pass them along.
This case remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, The Allen county Coroners Office and the Allen County Prosecutors’ Office.
