FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) - Consider it a new, unique way to experience downtown Fort Wayne.

That is how the people behind "Pedal City" describe their one-of-a-kind 15 passenger bicycle. Soon enough you will be able to get a glimpse of it yourself once it hits the streets of Fort Wayne.

Affectionately known as "the beer bike," Pedal City invites riders to bring along their favorite beer and/or wine to enjoy during the tour.

No need to worry about open container laws or the possibility of getting an Operating While Intoxicated charge while riding the bike. The driver in charge of the bike does not drink any alcohol. City officials and law enforcement also fully support the venture as a fun way to see the sights.

"It's been awesome. The reception has been great," says Pedal City's general manager Adam Murphy. "Everyone has been excited about it and I feel like (with) the progression of Fort Wayne over the past 10 years, I feel like its only going to get better. Something like this business only makes sense."

As Murphy points out, it is a fun way for locals and out of town tourists alike to see what makes Fort Wayne so special.

"I think it's going to make people appreciate downtown a lot more. They are going to get to roll around and we'll get to give them a little history recap of some of the different buildings and stuff like that. Going past the new stadium and overall incorporating the entire city in it. I think people are really going to open their eyes versus just coming down here and going to one place. We're going to be rolling them around the whole city."

In fact, Pedal City is already accepting reservations for as early as St. Patrick's Day. You can call them at 260-415-6167 or find them on social media to book your next group outing.
