The Gift Of Hope Happens Here: Riley Helps Potter Family (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- We continue a special week called "The Gift of Hope Happens Here" as we partner with Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

Tonight, Linda Jackson introduces us to a young Fort Wayne boy who's been touched by healing hands at Riley.

6-year-old Owen Potter was born at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis with Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus and Cleft-lip and palate.

Doctors told Owen’s mom, Jenifer, and dad, Eric, that he likely wouldn't have a "quality" life. Tell that to the rambunctious little guy who, with his two sisters and two brothers, are home-schooled and love life.

With the help of braces and sheer determination Owen can run, ride a bike and has even played soccer and t-ball. And, he loves Legos! He was also chosen as a 2014 Riley Children's Foundation calendar artist.

For the Potter’s, family, faith and the specialized care at Riley add up to a meaningful life together.
