INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Country group "Sugarland" has fired back at a large civil lawsuit stemming from the Indiana State Fair stage collapse.

The suit, filed last November, claims the band, concert promoters and stage builders constructed a flawed stage and failed to evacuate the venue ahead of the storm that caused the deadly collapse last summer.

Sugarland responded to the suit, saying they were not responsible for the stage or cancelling the show, and claims some fans did not protect their own safety.

OSHA officials have blamed the State Fair Commission, the stage company and a stagehands union for the collapse.
