FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- As gas prices continue to climb, a bill is now in place to drill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Indiana Congressmen Marlin Stutzman spoke to the House about the effect of gas prices on Hoosiers.

Stutzman says this project, if approved, will reduce our dependency on foreign oil. Stutzman voted for H.R. 1229 the Putting the Gulf of Mexico Back to Work Act. The bill will expedite the approval process for drilling permits on the Outer Continental Shelf.
